If you are one of the members covered by the Agreement, your share of the indemnity in the amount of approximately $16.48 will be sent directly to you by cheque to your last known address, without having to make a claim within 90 calendar days of the Settlement being approved.

The Settlement was approved by the Superior Court of Quebec on April 16, 2019.

  • What is this Class Action about?

    The Class Action alleges that, between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2003, CAMI permitted or failed to prevent a practice of frequent and short-term investment by certain investors in the mutual funds listed above. Class Action alleges that this practice reduces the return of ordinary investors over the long term. CAMI denies having committed a fault, denies any liability, and disputes the merits of the Class Action.

  • Who is eligible to participate in this Class Action?

    You are part of the subclass if you have invested in one of the following funds between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2003:

     

    • Talvest Asian Fund
    • Talvest China Plus Fund
    • Talvest China Plus RSP Fund
    • Talvest RSP Global Asset Allocation Fund
    • Talvest Global Equity Fund
    • Talvest Global Multi-Management RSP Fund
    • Talvest Global RSP Fund
    • Talvest Global Science & Technology RSP Fund
    • Talvest Global Small Cap Fund

     

    The Agreement provides for the creation of a sub-group for the purposes of the implementation of the Agreement which could affect your rights. You may not receive compensation under the Agreement. Please refer to the detailed version of this notice from the Documents page on this website.

  • Has the settlement been approved?

    Yes, the settlement was approved on April 16, 2019.

  • What benefits are available under the settlement?

    The Agreement provides for the payment of an indemnity of $ 625,000 (hereinafter "indemnity").

     

    If you are one of the members covered by the Agreement, your share of the indemnity in the amount of approximately $16.48 will be sent directly to you by cheque to your last known address, without having to make a claim within 90 calendar days of the Settlement being approved.

  • Do I have to submit anything to obtain my share of the Indemnity?

    No, if you are one of the members covered by the Agreement, your share of the indemnity will be sent directly to your last known address, without having to make any claim.

  • I have moved since I invested in the Talvest Fund.  Can I update my address with Administrator to ensure I receive my share of the Indemnity?

    Yes, please call 1 877-739-8940 to update your address.

  • Where can obtain a copy of the Settlement Agreement or other court documents?
